10 facts about Channels TV Chukwuma Onuekwusi

John Momoh’s Channels television was on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, thrown into mourning as one of its correspondents; covering the state house, was died.
News of Chukwuma Onuekwusi’s death was spread afield as many mourned the experienced reporter with a sonorous voice and peculiar style.
The news of his death broke in the early hours of Tuesday, after a brief illness. The following are facts you might not know about him.
1.He has a degree in Mass Communication (Radio and TV Broadcasting) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
2.The late correspondent attended Journalism academic programmes both in Nigeria and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
3.He began his career in Broadcasting with the Imo Broadcasting Corporation, Owerri, Imo state as announcer, reporter and news caster (both on radio and television).
4. A motivator, he was also a prolific newscaster.
5. He joined Channels TV in 1998, and has covered several beats before he was seconded to the Presidential Villa as the State House correspondent.
6.He covered different beats, but concentrated on politics.
7. He got a nominated for the Nigeria Media Merit Awards in 2001. He also received an award from Channels when it celebrated 21 years in 2016.
8.He passed on at Zenith Medical and Kidney Center in the Garki area of Abuja in early hours of Tuesday.
9.He died at the age of 55.
10.He is survived by wife and three children.
