Men of the Nigerian Police are still on the manhunt for ‘Lagos boy’ Lekan Sonde who allegedly murdered his wife, Ronke following suspicions of infidelity.

Ronke Shonde, a mother of two, was found dead in their apartment located on Tiemo Close, Off Awori Street, in the Egbeda-Idimu area of Lagos State on Friday morning.

Nigerians have been lamenting the tragedy with some blaming the victim for staying in an abusive marriage till she met her waterloo.

  1. The couple have two children, 6 and 4 who were locked inside the apartment with their mother’s corpse as Lekan fled the scene.
  1. Lekan had an history of beating his wife. Neighbours claimed he beat her regularly but he disagreed. He insisted he has not beaten her since three years ago.
  1.  Lekan was paying his late wife N8,000 as weekly food allowance and he pays for her hair too.
  1. He accused his wife of dating a manager at her new job at a publishing company.
  1. He claimed that his late wife travelled to Abuja with the manager lover and stayed with him in the same room for four days.
  1. He also said that upon her return, he walked in on her in the living room telling her lover how well she enjoyed the ‘fun’ with him as her husband was not so good.
  1. Lekan claimed to have asked Ronke to move out of the house but that she refused.
  1. He said that on the night of the incident, he tried to retrieve the N20,000 she stole from him since she had denied him sex for three months.
  1. Lekan is unrepentant and is playing the ‘try and find me’ game with the Police.
