The digits 123456 has been revealed as the most popular password of 2014 – which is so simple it leaves users at risk of online fraud and identity theft.
The information was compiled by security firm SplashData by analyzing 3.3 million leaked passwords that came out during 2014 shows that the top 25 passwords on the web are dangerously predictable with the second most popular password being “password”.
Major sports all feature in the top 100 – including football, golf and hockey – along with the years 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992.
