15 things you should know about Big Brother Naija

MultiChoice brought back the Nigerian version of the hit reality TV series, Big Brother, after 10 years! Housemates are spending 11 weeks of undiluted entertainment, and here are fifteen things you should know about the Big Brother Naija reality show:

 

  1. The show is now referred to as Big Brother Naija.

 

  1. The program has been running for almost 78 days starting  from  January 22, 2017, with a two-hour, live, televised launch and it will end on  April 9, 2017, with a two-hour, live, televised finale.

 

  1. This would be the second instalment of the Big Brother franchise in Nigeria after 10 years.

 

  1. It airs on dedicated event channels on all DStv packages on channel 198 and GOtvPlus on channel 29.

 

  1. Big Brother Naija has 12 housemates in total.

 

  1. A variety of Nigerian personalities visited the Big Brother Naija house during the show including musicians and performers.  In addition, the show’s presenter is a former housemate Ebuka Obi Uchendu.

 

  1. The voice of ’Biggie’ is a Nigerian.

 

  1. There has been no shower hour since it started.

 

  1. Winner of the Big Brother Naija takes it all! He or she would walk away with a whopping prize money of N25 million and a brand new KIA Sorento car.

 

  1. The reality show is sponsored by Payporte.

 

  1. Seven housemates have been evicted from Biggies house -Thin Tall Tony, Bassey, Bally, Kokoice, Kemen, Myounce.

 

  1. Five housemates made it to the final, Tboss , Debbie Rise , Bisola , Efe and Marvis .

 

  1. Kemen was disqualified from the show.

 

  1. The show is shot in South Africa.

 

  1. The show has received a lot of criticism since it debuted on our screen because of the atrocities committed by housemates.
