2 movies that catapulted Eniola Badmus to fame

Big and bold actress, Eniola Badmus who celebrated her 34th birthday on Thursday, September 7, 2017, was an ordinary, struggling actress. But her fame soared with two blockbuster movies produced by Funke Akindele.
With Omo Ghetto and Jenifa, the popularity of the big boned star rocketed northwards.
Before then, Enibad or ‘Gbogbo Bigz Girl’, as she is fondly called, had played different roles in various movies, both English and Yoruba. But with Omo Ghetto and Jenifa, Eniola Badmus became a household name not just because she featured in the movies, but because she was in the right place at the right. The roles suited her character and this eventually brought her to the very place she is now.

Encomium.ng brings you the movie(s) that shot ace actress, Eniola Badmus to limelight and some other movies she has featured in…

1. Jenifa (she played the role of ‘Gbogbo Bigz Girl’)
People won’t forget this movie soon because it actually made a bang when it was released. Written and produced by another prolific and talented actress, Funke Akindele, Eniola Badmus played the role of ‘Gbogbo Bigz Girl’ in this movie, a name she is nicknamed with till date. Her character was that of a big girl who gives University girls to ritual killers for money. She went from one Institution to the other to get girls in the bid of taking them to rich guys who would ‘take care of them’. This character, we can say, suited Eniola’s personality as she delivered the role almost like she had engaged in such business before.
2. Omo Ghetto (she played the role of Busty)
Omo Ghetto is yet another bluckbuster (also produced by Funke Akindele) that brought out the very best in Eniola Badmus. She played the role of Busty, member of an all-girls gang based in the ghetto. Busty, like other girls in the gang (Lefty, Skoda, Omojoyibo, Nikky), go about in the ghetto causing mayhem, fighting rival gangs to claim superiority. Busty is a character whose mother wanted the best for despite her ghetto life. She was enrolled in a catering school to learn how to make snacks, but she only saw her enrollment as an opportunity to eat more than enough. She eats even while frying the snacks. This, however, led to a fight between herself and her boss, which made her to leave the vocational centre.
The above mentioned movies can be classified as Eniola’s best because they brought out the best in her. She played her roles in them almost perfectly.
Other movies she featured in are as follows.
1. Return of Jenifa
2. Mr &Mrs Ibu
3. Blackberry Babes
4. Return of Blackberry Babes
5. Omo Aridunnu
6. Brutal time
7. Ashiru Ejire
8. Love Affair
9. Aye Aramide
10. Adun Ewuro
11. Okin
12. Tami (where she spoke her Ijebu dialect).
