$200 million shaved from Alakija’s net worth in one week

Barely one week after staging a record breaking £5 million wedding for one of her four sons, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija’s net worth plummeted south, with $200 million loss.
From $1.8 billion recorded on the Forbes rich list a few weeks back, the 66 year old second richest African woman (after Angola’s Isabel dos Santos’ $3.3 billion) dropped to $1.6 billion.
At 7:45 pm on Monday, June 19, 2017, the FAMFA Oil’s big wig stood at number 1,369 on Forbes real-time rich list.
Just a week ago, news of Folarin Alakija and Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifa’s Saturday, June 10, £5 million wedding was splashed across the world.
With one million roses, and spectacular cake decorated with a hundred ornate white roses and doves, the Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire event (England) attracted the cream of high society in Europe, the Middle East, United States of America, the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
For the other two billionaires on Forbes list, it is mixed fortunes. While Alhaji Aliko Dangote, 60, recouped his $14.3 billion net worth (number 82) after a week of lows and highs, Dr. Michael Adenuga, Jnr., 64, lost $200 million in the same period, settling at number 276 with $5.9 billion.
