2018 Independence Day: Amosun tasks citizens on progress, unity

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, yesterday joined in the celebration of Nigeria’s 58th independence anniversary, tasking citizens to redouble their efforts towards the progress of the nation.
In his speech at 2018 independence day celebration, at the M.K.O Abiola International stadium, Kuto,  Abeokuta, the governor urged the people to also continue to deepen democracy, by enhancing unity in the country.
He assured of his government’s commitment towards a better welfare of Ogun State workers, adding that it would bequeath a system driven environment in the state.
Amosun disclosed that the Public Service Transformation Office, as part of the Western Nigeria partnership, is currently working to reform the public service in the state, so as to make it globally competitive.
He commended the Federal Government for its Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), noting that it will make the nation’s economy more competitive among the comity of nations.
The governor advised the youths against being used as tools to cause violence and also ensure they exercise their franchise in the 2019 general election.
