3 weeks after: Pa Okoye’s funeral date not yet fixed

-Family waiting for elders’ conclusion

Three weeks after the demise of their father, Mazi Moses Okoye, the duo of Peter and Paul, popularly known as P-Square and siblings are yet to fix funeral dates for the late septuagenarian businessman, who died on Monday, November 24, 2014.

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s findings revealed that the children have concluded their meeting in Lagos, waiting for the outcome of a similar meeting going on in their village (Ifite Dunu, Anambra State). There is a funeral committe championed by the elders of the church attended by the late septuagenarian.

Industry sources told ENCOMIUM Weekly that Pa Mazi Okoye will likely be buried beside his late wife (Madam Josephine) by the elders of Roman Catholic Church early next year.

“There have been series of meeting since the man died three weeks ago, and I want to assure you that everything on course. The children have concluded their meeting, waiting for the outcome of the elder’s meeting in the village. However, this year is gone already. If there will be anything, that’ll be early next year”, source who preferred anonymity, told ENCOMIUM Weekly.

Meanwhile, security men were still keeping vigil at the palatial home of the sensational singing duo at Lola Holloway, Omole, Lagos when we visited the place on Friday, December 5, 2014. The men in uniform were at the gate to prevent uninvited sympathizers from entering the premises, which appeared deserted.

“What do you want?” “Who are you looking for?” “Are they expecting you?” the guard questioned our correspondent, who told them that he was there to sympathize with the family. He advised our reporter to leave the surroundings to avoid being embarrassed.

Pa Okoye was a successful businessman based in Jos (Plateau). He joined his late wife on Monday, November 24, 2014, around 10pm when he slumped at the Omole home of his super star musician sons. He had undergone knee surgery weeks earlier, but had a respiratory ailment which might have led to his death.

He’s survived by eight children: seven sons and a daughter (Christopher, Henry, Jude, Lilain, Tony, Peter, Paul and Mary).
