The fashion industry is growing in leaps and bounds, designers are more creative and setting the pace for international audience. ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with fast-rising designers about the future of fashion designing in Nigeria

What is in vogue for the season?

I will be playing with colours. We shall be doing more of pants and palazo pants because I think palazo is coming. Then a bit of crop top and skirt, and also cape top and skirt.

What is your opinion about the fashion industry?

The industry has grown. Designers are really creative in Nigeria. We are gradually getting to the Nigeria of our dream fashion wise.

What is the future of fashion designing in Nigeria?

Fashion in Nigeria now, if I must confess, I’m really impressed. And I think we will move further.

What are the fashion mistakes Nigerians make?

I think Nigerians make mistakes with trends. They tend to focus more on what is in vogue than doing their own thing. I think it is better to mix and match.

What is your plan for 2015?

I work with what I have and I don’t focus more on what I may have, because it really doesn’t make me concentrate on the present. I just do my thing and hope for better results, that will help the future.
