Encomium
As the 50th anniversary of Lagos state (Centre of Excellence) draws nearer, preparations are on to ensure the golden jubilee celebrations turns out glamorous and hugely successful.
As part of the awareness for the one in town event, almost all the major roads within the state now wear new looks with portraits of A-list celebrities, politicians, captains of industry and others on display, with the inscription: “Lagos My Success Story.”
Some of the routes affected are, Lagos-Abeokuta express way, Agege-Oshodi, Abule Egba-Agege, Fagba-Ogba, Ikorodu-Obalende, Lekki-Ajah, Mushin- Oju Elegba, Apapa-Oshodi, Agege-Ogba, Kudirat Abiola Way, Awolowo Way, Iyana Ipaja-ikotun, Ikeja- Berger and others.
Among those whose photographs decorated some of the roads are, Africa’s richest mogul, Aliko Dangote, Rasak Okoya, Femi Otedola, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Governor Akinwumi Ambode, Lateef Jakande, Musliu Smith, King Sunny Ade, K1 De Ultimate, Pasuma, Salawa Abeni, Funke Akindele, Olamide, Desmond Elliot, Folorunso Alakija, Brig Mobolaji Johnson (rtd), Joke Silva and others.
