6 days after, Seun Egbeegbe still in prison, struggling to perfect bail

Serial suspect and socialite, Seun Egbeegbe is still in Ikoyi Prisons (Lagos), six days after Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo of Federal High Court granted him bail.

The music and movie promoter, Alhaji Olanrewaju Oluwaseun Olasunkanmi Kazeem  (also known as Olajide Kareem), is struggling to perfect the bail granted on Friday, February 24, 2017, in the afternoon of Thursday, March 2.
Sources in Ikoyi Prisons informed encomium.ng that he may perfect the bail conditions today.
The court had granted the 40 old businessman, arraigned for advance fee fraud, along with his accomplice (Ayomide Oyekan), bail on strict terms.
He was granted bail with two sureties in like sum of N5 million (N2.5 million each). One of the sureties must be a civil servant on level 16 who will also deposit his passport. The other must provide the certificate of occupancy of a building in Lagos metropolis.
The home and office addresses of the sureties will be verified by the court.
Egbeegbe ran into trouble on Thursday, February 2, 2017, when he was apprehended by passersby following allegations that he swindled two forex traders of $9,000 and £3,000. He was said to have pretended to be a doctor at Gbagada General Hospital, while his accomplice acted the role of a patient.
After investigation, with over 30 bureau de change operators accusing him of fraud since August 2015, he was arraigned at the Federal High Court 8 in Ikoyi on Friday, February 10.
Still facing a theft charge of 9 iPhone handsets valued at N2.4 million from Computer Village on November 22, 2016, Egbeegbe’s many troubles as been ruled as extraordinary.
