6 new details on Moji Olaiya’s burial

Nollywood star actress Moji Olaiya, who died in the early hours of Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Canada, will surely now be buried in Nigeria.
The body of the 42 year old mother of two daughters will soon be on its way from Canada as preparations are hastened to get the corpse of the Ekiti born filmmaker to Nigeria in good time.

Here are 6 fresh details on the arrangements:

1. Confused about raising $15,000 to prepare and ferry her corpse to Nigeria, officials of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) approached Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the weekend.
And on Monday, May 22, he gave them $30,000, as revealed by an insider, to cover the cost and more.

2. There is a spat between one of the members of the burial committee (Yomi Fabiyi) and activist Kayode Salako, on one hand, and Lere Olayinka (the Special Assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti on Publicity and New Media), at the receiving end.
The dirty social media war is over the assistance to Olaiya’s cause purportedly shunned by the government of her home state.
But it is clear that the governor was never officially unformed.
Concerned compatriots believe Ekiti government should be magnanimous, and assist in anyway it can.

3. In Canada, with Femi Olaiya on ground since the night of Saturday, May 20, paper work is moving apace.
The corpse is in mortuary after being attended to by pathologists.
And her two months’ old daughter is in good health.

4. The corpse may be ferried soon for the long flight from Canada.
While some think the arrival time is this week, a few others are looking at Tuesday, May 30.

5. Burial plans are on, with the committee working in concert with her family.
But it is unclear where she would be buried. Is it Lagos or Ekiti?

6. Her 18 year old daughter, Adunola Faroumbi, a third year Law student of Babcock University in Illisan, near Ijebu Ode in Ogun state, is recovering from the shock.
At a meeting with Asiwaju Tinubu on Monday, May 22, she managed a smile.
