6 ways Olajumoke can secure her future

As a brand ambassador of a few companies such as Payporte and Shirley Confectionery, Olajumoke Orisaguna’s future is full of promises. With the trust fund for her children’s education from Stanbic IBTC, she has little to worry about. And the five year rent at the 3 bedroom apartment in Surulere courtesy of Sujimoto Construction will expire in 2021. But what happens after the rags to riches tale is no longer as exciting? What will she fall back on when the few and far between modelling jobs fizzle?

How will she escape poverty after all the noise becomes a din?

That’s why a few students of economics are advising that:

* She should still hone her craft as a hairstylist as offered by Make Me and Sari Signature  (both upscale salons in Lagos which promised her internship).

* She can then set up shop in Lagos, Osogbo or Iree  (because of the large population of students and staff). Her rebranded hair salon will become a rave.

* She can add trading in hair accessories and even throw in a barbing salon.

* She can improve her communication skill, and become a public speaker telling her story across Nigeria and beyond.

* She can leverage on her popularity and become an advocate for a cause to elevate women.

* She can diversify and own other businesses and use her fame to her advantage.

The possibilities are endless with sound financial advice…
