One of the highest grossing movies of 2016, “The Wedding Party” (with about N500 million tickets sold) received thunderous applause from all…and fans are excited as the news of a sequel, set to be released this year, broke.
The cast and crew are already on location for another block buster.
Here are 9 things to note about The Wedding Party ( 2):
- Kemi Adetiba off the set
Fans shouldn’t expect Kemi Adetiba, the hard working lady who directed “The Wedding Party ” as she has been replaced. Reasons for Kemi’s absence has not yet been explained by the executive producer.
A new director has taken over, and there is no cause for alarm. Niyi Akinmolayan also knows his onions just like the first director. According to information gathered by Encomium Weekly, Niyi has been playing his role excellently well as all cast and crew are having a swell time on location.
- New Cast
Fans should expect new faces in Part 2, from Patience Ozoukwo, popularly known as Mama G, Emmanuel Ikubese, Dakore Egbuson Akande, Chigul, Omoni Oboli and Seyi Law. They are in the second part of the much acclaimed movie to make it richer and funnier.
- Original cast still on board
One would not forget in a hurry the caliber of actors that made “The Wedding Party” a huge success. They were entertainers to the core, from Richard Mofe Damijo, Shola Shobowale, Ireti Doyle, Ali Baba, Adesua Etomi and of course not forgetting the new entrant Banky W and a host of others. They made the movie worth viewing. And they are back in Part 2.
- An International location
Contrary to what happened in Part 1, Part 2 will be mostly shot in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The cast are already at work and from their social media pages, one would see that they having the time of their lives on location.
- Kick off date
Shooting started on Monday, May 1,2017. All hands have been on deck since then to make the second part of the journey worthwhile.
- The Proposal
Nonso, elder brother of Dozie would propose to Dierdre, the bride’s maid that came from London for Dozie and Dunni’s wedding.
According to our findings, the proposal was by accident, while Nonso and Dierdre were on a dinner date.
- Another romantic wedding
Another romantic wedding would take place in Part 2.
Nonso and Dierdre would be getting married in Dubai. Their wedding was first opposed till the two families reached a consensus on where the wedding would take place.
- Dozie and Dunni expecting their first child
The picture of pregnant Adesua Etomi and her beau Banky W went viral a couple of weeks back. It turned out that the picture was from the set of The Wedding Party 2.
The couple would be expecting their first child in the movie.
- To debut on December 10, 2017
Fans should expect the Part 2 of the movie in the cinema in from Sunday, December 10 2017.
