A fun-filled Nickfest captivates both children and parents with Nickelodeon characters and family friendly entertainment in Lagos

The inaugural event held in Nigeria this past weekend, 18 and 19 November has everyone who attended, talking about how much fun they had at their first NICKFEST experience.

The popular and loved Nickelodeon brand, clearly over-delivered on its promise. If you didn’t attend the event, here are the things you missed:

The best pair to host a family event is the friendly and hilarious IK Osakioduwa and Emmanuella of Mark Angel Comedy. Right from the start of the event, the two held everyone spellbound with their amazing talent and entertainment. Together the two appear more like dad and daughter and entertained the audience with an impressively coordinated show.

In addition to the hilarious pair of hosts at NickFest, the festival audience included live performances by top Nigerian artistes like Yemi Alade, Simi, Mr P of P-square and Mr. Eazi.

Children watched stage shows by their favorite Nickelodeon animated superstars: SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chase, Marshall, Rubble and Skye from Paw Patrol as well as Shimmer and Shine. Dora, from Dora and Friends made a special appearance as well Even the adults were excited to experience the animated characters.

Nickelodeon’s trademark Slime Area entertained both children and celebrities with the latter participating in the Celebrity Slime Challenge organized to raise awareness and funds for The North East Children’s Trust.

You can imagine the excitement when children and parents joined these celebs in the slime dunk at the Slime Zone. For many, it was surreal having so much fun with people they thought they’d only see on screen.

A delighted mom who came with her two boys said, “This is such a good thing that Nickelodeon is doing. I’m wowed. I didn’t even expect it to be this exciting especially for an adult like me. I mean, even I had fun myself. I hope they don’t stop because this is something I’ll definitely like to attend with our children again.”

Thrilling kids and parents alike, NickFest brings families together thanks to its unique combination of live music from Nigerian A-listers Yemi Alade, Simi and Mr Eazi, Mr P, Chioma Akpotha, character shows, and appearances by Nickelodeon superstars SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora and Friends, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chase, Marshall, Rubble and Skye from Paw Patrol and Shimmer and Shine.
