A mega tsunami may happen again- Scientists

Evidence of collapsed volcanoes around the Cape Verde Island (in West Africa) may cause mega tsunami, scientists claim.

They warn the collapse of volcanoes could be far more catastrophic that previously thought.

The research points out that the collapse of volcanoes can happen extremely fast and catastrophically, and therefore are capable of triggering giant tsunamis

Tsunami expert from the University College London, Professor Bill McGuire who’s not involved in the research claims, the study ‘provides robust evidence of megatsunami formation [and] confirms that when volcanoes collapse, they can do so extremely rapidly.’

Many scientists have doubted whether the big volcanoes can collapse with the suddenness that the new study suggests.
