Abeokuta flood: Presidential committee visits Ogun

The Presidential Committee on Flood Assessment, has visited Ogun State, to access the extent of damage of the recent flash flood in the state.
Chairman of the Presidential Committee, Prof. Emmanuel Adanu, speaking to news men, after visiting Governor Ibikunle Amosun in his office in Abeokuta yesterday, said the committee would access the technical profile of the rivers and make recommendations to the Federal Government, in accordance with its mandate.
Adanu, who said his team visited Odo-Eran, Oke-Lantoro, Ogun River and other affected areas,  assured that necessary action will be taken as soon as the committee submits it’s reports.
The state Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Bolaji Oyeleye, also speaking, said necessary data has been collected for analysis and recommendations.
He added that the team also offered advise on how to convert such volume of flood into positive use, assuring that measures will be taken to prevent  future occurrence.
