Abisoye Fagade, Sodium Group MD, declares gubernatorial aspirations, launches foundation

Founder and Managing Director of Sodium Group of companies, Abisoye Fagade, recently announced his intentions to join the gubernatorial race for Oyo State in 2023.
This announcement was made at his birthday event, where he also officially launched his foundation – the OSMD Network.An astute and well respected businessman, Abisoye stated his commitment to ‘restoring Oyo back to its former glory.’ During his remarks, he stated that a strategic focus on education, healthcare, technology, finance, agriculture, transportation and security, will prove effective in aiding economic growth, job creation, and capacity building.
In his words, “After many months of consultations, planning, and prayers, I am happy to inform you that I have decided to contest for the office of Governor in Oyo State, under our great party, the All People’s Congress, APC.”
An indigene of Lagelu local government in Oyo state, Fagade’s passion for the development of his hometown is evident in his philanthropic footprint in the State.
In 2010, he founded the Oyo Si Ma Dun (OSMD) Network, a platform dedicated to building capacity for the youth.Following the announcement of his intention to lead the State, political dignitaries, also present at the event, pledged support to his ambitions. Among his supporters were Otunba Femi Pedro, Former Deputy Governor, Lagos State; Shina Peller, Member, House of Reps; Steve Ayorinde, former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Lagos, and Honorable Titi Oseni-Gomez, former Ogun Speaker.
Also including royal fathers, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, Olugbon of Orile-Igbon in Surulere, Ogbomosho, Oyo State; Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Oniru of Iru Land, and former Assistant Inspector General of Police (RTD), Aare Akogun Tunji Alapini.Credited as leading the team that rebranded Kwara state, the former Governor of Kwara, featured in a documentary that extolled Fagade’s character.
He said: “With a sense of concept and idea to drive excellence, [Fagade] was able to bring to bear what was eventually accepted as a Logo for Kwara and it was well celebrated”.Steve Babaeko, Founder X3M Ideas added: “You know you can count on Abisoye to be there.”
