Ace Nollywood actor, Bob Manuel Udokwu, bags political appointment

Ace thespian and television host, Bob Manuel Udokwu, has been appointed into the cabinet of Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, as the Senior Special Assistant on Movie/Entertainment.

In an exclusive interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly’s Michael Nwokike, the one-time Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) host, was evidently excited as he spoke on his plans for the industry amongst other issues.

Congratulations sir, on your appointment. How does it feel?

I feel a deep sense of responsibility to make the industry vibrant and financially rewarding in Anambra State.

What does the office entail?

It’s huge and entails among other things, overseeing everything about movies and entertainment, including but not limited to hospitality and tourism in the state.

What do you think gave you the edge to clinch this appointment?

I believe my education, training and years of practical experience in the field gave me an edge to get appointed to this position. I’ve been in the movie/entertainment sector for almost three decades.

Wouldn’t your new appointment affect your acting career?

I do not think the appointment will affect my acting career, rather it will enhance it.

What will you do differently from the previous SSA?

I am the first person to hold the position, so I will bring pioneering innovation in setting up the new office for maximum creativity in Anambra State.

With your appointment, entertainers are now well represented in government. What are the specific projects you’ll embark upon?

I have a comprehensive programme of action for the movie/entertainment industry. There will be more jobs for entertainers and incentives for financiers of works of entertainment. The details of my plans will be made public in due course.
