When did you start business?

I started when I was very young.  I was in primary school.  I used to hawk for my mother when I came back from school.  I was also into business when I got to secondary school.  But I rented a shop for myself about 13 years ago.

What informed the decision to go into business?

It is about making money from every aspect of my life not just acting alone.  It is about every talent bringing in money the right way, making money the decent way.

Can you recall your initial capital?

Not really, I can’t really remember, maybe N500.

Will you say business is affecting your career?

No, not at all.  Not in any way.

How are you juggling the two?

I can employ somebody to be there when I am away.  It is a way of giving back to the society as well, by taking somebody off the labour market

Will you say business is affecting your career?

It does not affect my acting career.  It has helped it.  I wouldn’t be where I am today if I wasn’t into business.  When I opened my shop at Abule Egba, a lot of people were mocking me.  Some laughed at me.  I am surprised to see that a lot of them are into business now.

How are you juggling the two?

I am into a lot of things.  I do MC, I sell fabrics and jewelry.  I travel to US, UK, Morocco to get unique goods.  For acting, I try to shoot movies at a go, I may shoot two, three movies within two, three months.  I don’t go to locations often.  If I do, it means the people are close to me.  I will give them a date.  The money I make from my business is what I invest in my movies.  Piracy will not allow us shoot movies and fold our hands expecting all the money invested into the business to come back.
