Adenuga breaks record -Makes additional $7.7 billion in 5 weeks

Nigeria’s top five billionaires on Forbes rich list – Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Dr. Michael Adenuga, Jnr., Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, Femi Otedola and Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu – made additional $600 million in one week.

From their combined networth of $31.5 billion (on Monday, March 14, 2016), they got to $32.1 billion (by Monday, March 21, 2016).

Dangote gained $100 million, Adenuga $300 million, Alakija $100 million and Rabiu $100 million…with Otedola retaining his $1.6 billion fortune.

From $16.7 billion, Dangote, 58, moved to $16.8 billion, and nestled on the list at number 50. The king of sugar, flour, cement, salt, oil and more was on number 49 last week.

Globacom and Conoil chairman, Adenuga, 62, moved from $10.5 billion to $10.8 billion, and climbed to number 106, from 109 last week. The rise of the telecoms, oil and property giant has been so remarkable that many observers are astounded – from $3.1 billion, he gained $7.7 billion in about five weeks (from February 14).

Famfa oil’s Alakija, 65, made an extra $100 million (from $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion) – and sits on number 1,209 (from 1,220).

Forte Oil’s Otedola stayed on his $1.6 billion networth – and moved from number 1,241 to 1,258.

Big time manufacturer, Rabiu, 55, increased his networth by $100 million (from $1.1 billion to $1.2 billion).

His ranking, however, fell from 1,680 to 1,687.
