Our adored billionaires are losing big money, and today (Thursday, May 5, 2016) saw them shedding $600 million (N120 billion) from their $32.3 billion combined net worth.
Leading the pack is adulated man of means serenaded as the guru by friends and fans, Dr. Michael Adenuga, Jnr., 63. He lost $400 million (N80 billion) from the $11.1 billion he posted yesterday. The chairman of Conoil and Globacom reported $10.7 billion on the Forbes rich list, and settled at number 108.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, 59, our poster boy and pride of the black race, lost $200 million (N40 billion) from his $17.3 billion fortunes yesterday. He stood at number 48 with $17.1 billion.
Our other favoured and blessed compatriots retained their net worth – Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, 65, $1.6 billion (number 1,256): Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, 55, $1.2 billion (number 1,661) and Mr. Femi Otedola, 52, $1.1 billion (number 1,797).
