Aisha Babangida hosts magical cultural night for baby sister

Enchanting first daughter of Ibrahim and Maryam Babangida, Aisha, hosted a magical cultural evening in the night of Thursday, May 11, in honour of her baby sister, Halima, as she prepared for her marriage to Sarkin Sudan Gombe, Alhaji Auwal Lawal Abdullahi.

Earlier disrupted by a storm, with wind blowing away items in the marquee, the event kicked off around 10:30 pm, and lasted till the early hours of Friday, May 12.

With four former first ladies – Madams Aguiyi Ironsi, Ajoke Mohammed, Turai Yar’Adua, Fati Abubakar Abdulsalami – in attendance, it was a fabulous ceremony with Halima in blazing red, form fitting skirt and blouse combo with frills at the shin and ankle.

There were the first ladies of Kebbi, Kaduna and Niger states, and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija and Hajia Bola Shagaya.

The first and only  woman Chief Justice of Nigeria, Aloma Muktar  (retired) joined the glittering gathering ‘compered’ by Dayo Benjamin Laniyi.

Mrs. Dupe Jemibewon, Abike Dabiri and Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi stood up to be counted at the evening where the bride was advised and taught about the rudiments of marriage and how to make her husband happy.

Turning Minna into a jam packed spot, hotels were fully booked, airport stretched to the limits and infrastructure panted…
