Alao Malaika speaks on his newly dedicated mansion

‘It’s built with proceeds from music’, he says

Fuji star, Alhaji Sulaimon Adekunle Alao, better addressed as Malaika, whose N200 million Lekki, Lagos mansion was dedicated on Sunday, December 10, 2017, has cleared the doubts in the minds of many who still couldn’t believe doing music only could get him such a wondrous home.

Speaking excitedly in a phone chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Sunday, December 17, 2017, the Qibla of Fuji, as Malaika is also known, also confirmed having more houses in the vicinity.

Congratulations on your Sunday, December 10 Lekki, Lagos housewarming?

Thank you, sir.

How would you describe the event?

Alhamdulillah. Everything went according to plan.

How does it feel owing such a mansion at your age?

It’s not by my power. I will continue to say Alhamdulillah for Allah’s favour on me. I appreciate Him for everything He has done for me.

Apart from the house, you have been blessed beyond your imagination. How do you also feel about that?

I feel happy, but I will continue to say Alhamdulillah.

Going by the prices of building materials now and the kind of design and materials used for the house, is it not more than N200 m as being valued?

I personally can’t say exactly how much I spent on the house because I don’t know how to estimate. All I know is that it’s a solid structure. Alhamdulillah!

We learnt that’s not your first house, how true is it?

Yes, that’s not my first house. I have built two other houses before that one.

Where’re they?

All of them are in Lekki, Lagos.

But a lot of people couldn’t believe you could achieve all these as a musician, are you into any other thing apart from music?

No, I don’t have any other business apart from music. I built all my houses with the money I realised from my career as a Fuji artiste. In fact, all my achievements were through music. I give thanks to God on that.
