All set for Femi Segun’s Service of Songs today

All is set for the Service of Songs today (Thursday, March 27, 2014) of polyglot and ultimate master of ceremonies, Olufemi Enitan Segun at Millennium Estate, Lekki Peninsular Scheme 1, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 6 p.m.

Preparations for the ceremony heralding the burial of the suave and urbane gentleman –who passed on on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja (Lagos) following complications from a power bike accident on Friday, March 14, 2014 –have been fine tuned.

The Quadrangle, almost in front of the house he shared with his justice wife, Bisi Segun, will host family, friends and well-wishers of the well-spoken 56 year-old gentleman.

With two daughters –Rolari, in her mid 20s, and Fikemi, 14, Femi Segun also left behind his renowned writer mother, Mabel Segun.

Eulogies have poured in torrents since the news of his death broke.  And many remember with fondness the warmth and kindness of the former diplomat, banker and businessman.

His home (in Millennium Estate) have played host to hundreds who have been visiting since Friday, March 21.  And today, the Service of Songs will parade some of his friends and school mates from Igbobi College, Yaba (Lagos) and the University of Ife (Osun) and those he touched in his professional life at Ministry of External Affairs, Oceanic Bank, Nigeria Television Authority (where he anchored the then very popular Morning Ride) and Coltrane, his company.

The burial is tomorrow (Friday, March 28, 2014) at Vault & Gardens, behind Voice of Nigeria, Ikoyi, Lagos, shortly after the funeral service at House on the Rock Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos, at 10 a.m.
