Amazing Reasons Couples Divorce (2)

THOSE who have enjoyed good times and marital bliss dominating their lives sometimes fall apart.  Some of their reasons for taking a walk are amazing.  Here are a few of them.

 

‘HE USUALLY ASKS ME TO ABORT PREGNANCIES’

Olabisi Belewu, a 37 year-old beautician filed for divorce in an Agege Customary Court, Agege, Lagos, of her seven-year marriage to Gbenga Belewu, a factory worker because he usually asks her to abort anytime she is pregnant.

“I have had countless abortions for him.”

According to her, she met her husband, Gbenga with two wives and five children.  “I also had three children for him but he denied the paternity of the last child.”

 

‘SHE ABUSES ME EMOTIONALLY AND HAS DENIED ME SEX FOR 21 YEARS’

63 year-old Odunbaku Paul, who is an engineer, dissolved his 35-year marriage at a Mushin Customary Court, Lagos, because his wife, Titilayo, a school teacher, starved him of sex for 21 years. She often abused and used offensive words on him whenever they have a misunderstanding.

 

‘SHE IS STARVING ME OF FOOD’

An Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos dissolved the 18-year marriage between Idowu Adekunle, a transporter, and Oluwatoyin Adekunle.  In his petition, he told the court that his beautician wife was in the habit of starving him of food.  She also starved his seven children.

Oluwatoyin, who couldn’t deny the allegation, said she is usually asleep by the time her husband comes home and her stepchildren complain that she does not cook good food.

 

‘SHE IS UNCONTROLLABLE’

Lagos Island Customary Court dissolved the 14-year marriage between Fatai Olaiya, a 48 year-old trader, and 42 year-old Kafayat, who is also a trader because she is ungovernable.  Kafayat was accused of coming home late daily.

 

‘HE DOESN’T LIKE USING CONDOM’

Olaitan Owosheni, a 35 year-old hair dresser, filed for divorce in an Igando Customary Court, Lagos, because her 40 year-old husband does not like using condom during sex.

“I already have five children, I have done two types of family planning but they both had negative effect on me.  We were advised to start using condom but he detests it.  I don’t want more children.  Let me go, we will shoulder the children’s responsibility together.”

 

‘HE GAVE ME HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE’

An Oshogbo Grade 1 Customary Court dissolved the 10 year-old marriage between Rasheedat Muibideen and her husband, Kazeem.

According to the 40 year-old trader, her husband was responsible for her high blood pressure.  She said she was not ready to die because of her husband’s nasty behavior.

 

‘HE WANTS FORCEFUL SEXUAL INTERCOURSE’

Folake Adewale, a 42 year-old trader pleaded to divorce her husband, Kehinde at Alakuko Customary Court, Lagos.

Folake told the court that her husband forcefully makes love to her at least two times every day.  “He hardly allows me sleep because of love making.”

 

‘I AM HIS HUSBAND’

Khadija Yakubu, 28, pleaded for divorce at a Grade 1 Area Court, Gudu, Abuja because she is the one assuming the role of a husband in her marriage.  Her husband, Musa is a lazy man.  “I pay the house rent, feed myself and our children.  I also feed him too.  I am tired of being the husband.  He is too lazy for me.”

 

‘I WANT A BABY GIRL’

An Ile-Ife Customary Court in Osun State dissolved the union between Aminat Adefioye and her husband, Gideon because she couldn’t give birth to a baby girl.

“I really want a girl and I told her so after she had the first boy.  It is better to end the marriage if she cannot give me a baby girl.”

The couple who have been married for 27 years and blessed with three boys aged 24, 21 and 19 ended their union.

 

‘THE CONSISTENCY OF HIS THREAT IS SCARRING ME’

Rukayat Ogidan, a 32 year-old housewife, pleaded at a Mushin Customary Court (Lagos) to dissolve her marriage because of constant death threats to her life.  She stated that her husband, Saheed, is temperamental and always threatened to beat her at will.  “At times, he wakes me up with slaps, complaining that I am a liability to him.  It is better for me to go my own way.”

 

‘HE PICKS HIS NOSE TOO MUCH’

An Agege Customary Court (Lagos) dissolved the seven-year marriage between Alimat Banire, a 32 year-old businesswoman, and Ahmed, her husband who is a carpenter.  The marriage hit the rocks because Ahmed was said to be fond of picking his nose anytime he is at home.

Alimat said the “act irritates her and often makes her to vomit but her husband is unwilling to stop the act.”

All efforts to salvage the situation by the court proved abortive.
