THOSE who have enjoyed good times and marital bliss dominating their lives sometimes fall apart. Some of their reasons for taking a walk are amazing. Here are some of them.
I CAN’T SLEEP WITH OTHER WOMEN
27 year-old Rashid Adeniran filed for divorce at Tuntun Grade C Customary Court, Ibadan, Oyo State, because his wife had diabolically seized his manhood.
The couple got married in 2010 but filed for divorce five years later.
According to Rashid, he usually performed when he was with his wife, but found it difficult to get an erection when he was with other women. He prayed the court to dissolve the marriage.
SHE FORCES ME TO DRINK WATER EVERY MORNING
34 year-old Ibrahim Shuaibu filed for divorce at Agege Customary Court because he is tired of drinking water early in the morning. Though his 28 year old trader wife insisted that she still loved her husband.
Narrating his side of the story, he said his wife force him to drink two bottles of water every day as soon as he woke up.
“It was becoming unbearable, I have endured for three months.” He said his wife believes in following certain routine to stay healthy which he does not believe in.
HE GAMBLES TOO MUCH
Kabirat Shittu, a 28 year-old mother of two children filed for divorce at Ota Customary Court, Sango Ota, Ogun State because her husband gambles too much. She said her 29 year-old husband, Tunde gambled her away twice. It was her mother that stood as surety and paid Tunde’s debt.
MY BROTHER-IN-LAW DISRESPECTS ME
Mercy Onah, a 26 year-old hairdresser, filed for divorce at a Mushin Customary Court some days after her wedding because her brother-in-law does not respect her. She said her brother-in-law moved into the house she had never slept in while she was still on honeymoon. Though her husband, Tony pleaded at an Ikeja Customary Court, Ikeja, Lagos, Mercy had made up her mind to leave her marriage.
I DESERVE SOMEONE BETTER
Chinwe Akanbi, a 30 year-old businesswoman, filed for divorce at Oshodi Customary Court because she has grown up. She wanted to leave because now she knows her left from right. According to her, she wouldn’t have married Godwin.
“I deserve someone better than him.”
Her speechless husband consented because she was no longer interested in the marriage.
SHE’S FRIENDS WITH SINGLE LADIES
Emeka Odozi told an Ibadan Grade A Court (Oyo State) to dissolve his two-year marriage because his wife, Ngozi is fond of making friends with only single ladies. To him, his wife should only fraternize with her likes, who can advise her on marriage related issues.
SHE CAN’T COOK
40 year-old Idris Lawal told an Ilorin Customary Court to end his marriage to Mulikat, a 35 year-old mother of four children because she does not know how to cook.
“I have endured her bad food for more than six years. I tasted her friend’s food and it was delicious, it is better for her to go. I will get a wife who can cook good food for me.”
MY HUSBAND IS A CHATTERBOX
38 year-old Mariam Adunni filed for divorce after six years. She complained that her husband, Garba has become an untamed chatterbox revealing all her intimate secrets to his friends.
SPIRITUALIST SAYS HE’S NOT MY HUSBAND
Mulika Ajenifuja applied for divorce at Ota Grade C Customary Court, Ota (Ogun) because she prayed and was told her husband, Jinadu was not her real husband. She was told to search for her real husband by her spiritualist.
Mulika filed for divorce after spending 10 years with Jinadu. Their marriage is blessed with four children.
MARRIAGE HOLDING ME DOWN
Alani Agboola, a 42 year-old carpenter decided to end his three year marriage to Bimpe because he feels his marriage is holding him down from achieving his ambition.
Speaking about his ordeal, Alani said his wife has perpetually brought him bad luck, hence he wished to move forward. An Igando Customary Court granted his request.
MY WIFE BEATS ME
An Igando Customary Court (Lagos) dissolved the two year old marriage between Adetayo Kolade and his wife, Bisi because she beats him a lot.
Bisi bites and beats at every opportunity. The beating, according to the 40 year-old man leaves scars that give him nightmare.
