Ambode reiterates commitment to security of residents, investors

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has again reiterated his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and property of Lagosians as well as investors, assuring that security will not be compromised in any part of the State.

The Governor, represented by his Special Adviser on Communities and Communications, Hon. Hakeem Omoyele Sulaimon stated this at the commissioning of the newly constructed Orimedu Police Post in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of the State.

According to the Governor, no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of unrest, fear, and uncertainty, adding that as a result of his determination to a secure Lagos, the state government has gained the goodwill and partnership of well-meaning individuals and the organized private sector who have over the years made generous and substantial contributions to the Lagos State Trust Fund.

He said, through the donations, the State Government has succeeded in raising the capacity of security agencies with the provision of modern crime-fighting equipment.

The Governor also used the occasion to solicit for more cooperation from residents for security agencies through timely information sharing, stating that “we all must work together to create a crime-free state that is conducive for investment and pleasure”.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal represented by Area J Commander, Mr. Felix Oben, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, thanked the State Governor for his continuous support for the State Police Command.

He also commended the organization that donated the building with a promise that the Lagos State Police Command will ensure adequate security not only for the area butLagos State in general.

Earlier, the Chairman, Ibeju Lekki Local Government Area, Dr. Olorunkemi Surakat commended the State Government for the provision of the Police Post as well as other social infrastructure within the Council, assuring that the Post will be put to good use.

The commissioning of the building donated by Medview Airline as part of its corporate social responsibilities was witnessed by traditional rulers in the Area, top politicians, community leaders and senior officers from different security agencies in the State.
