On the over N10 billion indebtedness of the Murray-Bruces to Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, Nigerians want the loan to be repaid as fast as possible. This much they disclosed on social media as the news broke that Senator BEN Murray-Bruce, along with his brothers and son, as well as some of their companies, have been told to hand over their businesses to AMCON.
If you are angry AMCON took over SilverBird, go and borrow another N11billion and pay back his debtors in anger.
— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) June 23, 2016
AMCON has got both the knife and the yam.
What AMCON giveth, AMCON can taketh away 🙏🙏🙏 https://t.co/e8nnrl1Suh

So AMCON went to shut down a company claiming it’s owing =N=11 billion it doesn’t owe? Oga abeg. 😂😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/qkJyeL8RVv
— God’s Child (@ronaldnzimora) June 23, 2016
I think AMCON is just doing its job, after all, a loan agreement is a contract legally binding on the parties involved
No controversy here
— RamblersINC. (@tee_hidee) June 23, 2016
AMCON, EFCC, CCB, FIRS & the rest should keep giving defaulters/saboteurs/thieves sleepless nights. Baba Buhari is with you. We are together
— KUKUTE (@Ade_Nurayn) June 23, 2016
Is Jimoh Ibrahim in the PDP as well? Was it political when AMCON took over Aero contractors https://t.co/p7llDv9JZD
— Bayo Jr. (@jackflyboy) June 23, 2016
I am AMCON…and I just wanna make common sense#
— Muhammad (@Mgujbawu) June 23, 2016
Don’t argue with people who live from pay check to paycheck about what a successful biz is. Their employer is probably on the AMCON list too
— SK – Sola Kuti (@SKSolaKuti) June 23, 2016
Goodness gracious 61 billn!
The legs on those Union bank horses would have been completely broken if not for AMCON! https://t.co/zYeAoprrcA
— ZahrahMusa (@Zahrahmusa) June 23, 2016
If only he had minded his ‘business’
AMCON would have been kept at bay
That’s common sense.

Not a fan of @benmurraybruce, but I op he dosnt lose his busines 2 AMCON in d end.It doesnt spell well 4our unemployment stats as a country.
— Olumuyiwa Amao (@talk2smat) June 23, 2016
Knowing how AMCON operates, I am sure they have given the Silverbirds a long rope to service the debt. They likely said “USA dey owe too”
— HENRY Okelue (@4eyedmonk) June 23, 2016
Did AMCON take over Ben’s Twitter Handle too? He’s been too quiet.
— Ayekooto (@DeeOneAyekooto) June 23, 2016
What about the Union Bank staff that would’ve lost their jobs had Amcon not purchased the bad loan? https://t.co/7KiTBiFFyD
— Janada Jafiya (@LahDeeedah) June 23, 2016
I hope man’s paid for his Innoson car sha…. Can’t let AMCON grab that as part of the gbese.
— T. Rankïn’ (@AfroVII) June 23, 2016
How to hammer. 1. Get a bank loan. 2. Default on bank loan. Now I understand. Only took me 5 years. 400 people owe AMCON N4.5 trillion.
— JasonNjoku (@JasonNjoku) June 23, 2016
Actually sad for the Ben Bruce #AMCON issue.
The man has been a great entrepreneur before he was a politician. Better to borrow than steal.
— Godwin Strings (@GodwinStrings) June 23, 2016
So many nets to catch those stole this country blind: EFCC, DSS, AMCON…😃😃😃😃 pic.twitter.com/CUk6hSlmk0
— Mallam Adamu Hayatu™ (@AHayatu) June 23, 2016
If you borrow money from the banks to fry akara to sell, and you don’t service your debts. AMCON would take over your frying pan @Ayourb
— OSANAKPO #CHIBOK234 (@Baba_Meche) June 23, 2016
The Silverbird building houses Shoprite & a host of other businesses. Is AMCON going 2 reimburse them for revenue lost due 2 today’s action?
— Mr. Aye Dee (@MrAyeDee) June 23, 2016
— Emeka Irem (@IEmegha) June 23, 2016
AMCON doing anyhow. Even if there’s a court order for possession, must they deflate the bansing castul? Over-do everywhere. Mschewww!!!
— aarow (@laeida) June 23, 2016
Nothing significant aside the change of management. AeroContractors are under AMCON but you may not even notice it. https://t.co/7ykslCFolM
— The Godfather (@Ayourb) June 23, 2016
If Silverbird is going into receivership & AMCON intends to appoint management to run it, why shut the company down?
— Rosanwo (@rosanwo) June 23, 2016
I hope AMCON appoints a management team to run Silverbird, winding it down won’t favour the employees.
— Rosanwo (@rosanwo) June 23, 2016
AMCON’s eye has been red for a while sha. 220 delinquent debtors owe them more than N1.1tr
— Amara Nwankpa (@Nwankpa_A) June 23, 2016
So AMCON purchased the loan in 2011 to save Union Bank from collapse. 5 years later, the Murray Bruce brothers have refused to pay.
— #BringBackOurGirls (@Nedunaija) June 23, 2016
He was meddling in Buhari’s business
He neglected his own business
Now AMCON has taken over his business
Moral-Mind ur business
— PLANGKAT (@peekaymila) June 23, 2016
The way Kunle Adegoke of AMCON was saying “the common sense senator”, “the common sense propagator”…
You will know it’s pettiness & beef!
— Ekene Cruise (@KenisCruise) June 23, 2016
Anyone that says the Amcon thing is cos of politics is just Plain stupid.

Any comment from the chief dry cleaner yet on AMCON's wind of change? I am blocked & can't check.
— Adeola (@Adeola0503) June 23, 2016
Political or not AMCON has not done anything illegal, seems to me like it's purely carrying out its objectives.
— HustleBunny (@StephanieOjeifo) June 23, 2016
@tosinadeda. AMCON did it for Union Bank. The employees' jobs remains intact. Bruce Lee will only regain control after N11bn is recovered!😎👏
