An American doctor, who is working for a medical charity in Liberia to save endangered lives, has tested positive for the deadly virus.
Dr. Kent Brantly, 33, identified his own symptoms and confined himself to an isolation ward, but according to a spokesman for North Carolina-based Samaritan’s Purse, he “is in a stable condition”.
The medic, married with children, is being treated at a hospital in the Liberian capital, Monrovia.
