Amosun Lauds N-Power Initiative of FG

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has lauded the N-Power initiative of the President Muhammadu Buhari led government, aimed at creating employment for the youths.

Amosun, speaking while receiving the N-Power Monitoring Team, set up by the Presidency, to access the level of implementation of the project across the country in his office yesterday, charged the 5,300 N-Power Ambassadors, that are the current beneficiaries from Ogun State, out of the 200,000 nationwide, to take full advantage the programme offers to improve their skills.

He expressed satisfaction with the way the programme is being run and assured that his administration would continue to complement and support programmes as well as policies of the Federal Government.

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Job Creation and Youth Employment and Leader of the team, Mr. Afolabi Imonkhuede disclosed that the team would visit the three Senatorial Districts of the state to have first hand information on the N-Power programme.

Imonkhuede informed that the Federal Government plans to employ 500,000 youths, with 200,000 already employed, assuring that the Federal Government would soon start the recruitment of others.

Speaking on behalf of N-Power Ambassadors, Mr. Olalekan Mutairu of N-Teach, Mr. Ogunjimi Abayomi of N-Agro and Miss Oyedele Kafayat of N-Health, lauded the Presidency for taking youths off the streets, adding that this gesture would bring to the barest minimum, criminal activities across the nation.
