Amosun restates commitment to improved welfare of pensioners

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has restated his administration’s commitment to the improved welfare of pensioners.
He stated this during the commissioning of the Pensioners Events hall, at the secretariat of the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, in Lukosi, Abeokuta.
The governor, who stated that his administration would continue to pay pensions as and when due,  noted that the senior citizens have paid their dues.
Amosun said government will not take the support of pensioners for granted, asking for their continued prayers and support.
In his address, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Ogun State council, Chief Olujimi Odukoya, on behalf of the pensioners, advocated for a 33 percent increase of monthly pensions
Odukoya appealed to the governor, who he described as a lover of pensioners, to implement the minimum wage for pensioners, before he hands over the mantle of leadership next year.
