AMVCA 2017 gulps N54 million

The fifth edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award which was a huge success gulped N53.7 million according to ENCOMIUM Weekly‘s findings.

The event held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the prestigious Expo Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

THE N16.5 MILLION VENUE

ENCOMIUM Weekly reliably gathered that about N16.5 million was shelled out by the organisers for the prestigious Expo Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

 

N5 MILLION STAGE AND SOUND EQUIPMENT

Latest gadgets and state of the art sound system and equipment, alongside the stage and lighting system cost the organisers a fortune.

According to information pieced together by ENCOMIUM Weekly, all of N5 million went into it to make the show a huge success.

 

THE RED CARPET

The red carpet was massive. This year, guests walked down the red carpet without guidance by beautiful usherettes. Rumour has it that the organisers spent N1million for the red carpet.

 

N3.7 MILLION TROPHIES

The trophies made of wood and bronze, mounted on a base of glossy mahogany were made out of the shores of our land. Each trophy cost about N100,000. The gigantic ones were used at past editions of the show. About N250,000 accounted for logistics.

 

WARDROBE ALLOWANCE N500,000

The two hosts changed twice in the course of the show. We gathered they got a wardrobe allowance of N250,000 apiece.

 

THE HOSTS TOOK HOME N2 MILLION

The duo of IK Osakioduwa and Mimi were paid one million each.

 

NOMINEES/HOSTS WERE LODGED

The organizer provided accommodation for all nominees and hosts of the show. Though it was just a night, foreign nominees were also lodged. Lodging per night was N60,000. They lodged 50 people.

 

N22 MILLION ARTISTES FEE

Timi Dakolo and Bolanle Austin Peters Danced Troupe opened the show. He was paid N3 million, Lira got N4 million for her performance. Waje got N3 million, Arase and Chike were paid N1 million each while Bolanle Austin Peter Dance Troop got N10million for their perfomance.

 

ADVERTISEMENT

The media shared in the largesse but on a slim budget. Advertisement gulped N2 million.
