Thank you.

What was the first thing that went through your mind when you were announced the winner?

When you are at that point, you don’t even know what is going on.  You are going through different emotions.  You are happy, you go through a lot of emotions you cannot describe.  Holding the award made me happy. It made me feel rewarded for the work that was put into the The Meeting.

What will you say gave you the edge over others?

Honestly, I don’t know.  Everyone on the category are all talented actors, it is God and the people that voted for certain reasons.

With this award, will you say are now accomplished as an actor?

No, not at all.  It puts more pressure on you, it makes you more careful of the kind of project you do.  I just have to keep striving and keep doing good works.

What informed your choice of cast for The Meeting, because the movie won in some other categories too?

They just fit into the character we wanted.

How will this award impact on your career?

Hopefully, people will be able to see that I am an actor that can be given certain roles, that I am able to play certain roles.    Hopefully, more work, more collaborations.

 

‘It’s a privilege to be awarded’

How does it feel?

It is fulfilling.  Words cannot describe how I feel because it is a privilege to be awarded.

What was the first thing that went through your mind when you were announced the winner?

When I heard my name, I could not believe it because there were other people in that same category.

What will you say gave you an edge over others?

I don’t know perhaps a lot of people voted for me, a lot of people campaigned on my behalf.  I have a lot of people that love me in my church that were sending broadcast messages.  I think it is just God’s time.

With this award, will you say you are now accomplished as an actor?

Awards do not necessarily make you accomplished.  Awards are great but I don’t think anybody would join the industry because of winning an award.  It is when your work is enjoyed by a lot of people that you can be accomplished.  Awards are great and the feeling of fulfillment should be in you.

How will this award impact your career?

I am hoping it will make me do a lot, touch more people.  It will help distinguish and empower me a little more.

 

‘This award has promoted my career’

How does it feel?

I feel very good and encouraged.

What was the first thing that went through your mind when you were announced the winner?

In astonishment, I kept saying in my mind, ‘They have called my name’ until I got to the stage.

What will you say gave you an edge over others?

I really can’t say how that happened but I think it is subject to the voters which makes it difficult for me to determine my winning.  People voted and AMVCA had their criteria for voting as well.

With this award will you say you are now accomplished as an actor?

I would say, I am now placed on a journey to be accomplished.  It is a journey for me.

How will this award impact your career?

It has started already.  I would say it has promoted my work.  It has pushed me forward.  As a result of the award, I have greater challenges.
