What actually happened, you should have launched your music career when the ovation was loudest?
What you think I should do may not be proper. A lot of people share your view as well. If I had done it and I did not do it well, they will say I did it badly. As a true talent, you don’t need a special push, you just need to be ready, you need to be sure. I had to talk to myself, ask myself questions to know if I was ready. I had to take time off, I recorded some songs. I tried to make some moves but something happened, so I decided to take it slowly. It is not about how far but how well and the intent and integrity of your music.
You enjoy singing love songs, why?
I think I am drawn more to love songs, if you ask me my favourite songs in the world, they are love songs I also like artiste that sing love songs, those are artistes I listen to right from my childhood. I believe the world should be filled with love as well.
People believe sex sells. Will you be riding on sex appeal in your music also?
Sex sells all over the world and in everything. Even footballers want to look sexy. I am not a stereotyped artiste, I will be showing up different styles, I am a role model. I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that part of me.
DSC_9905Looking back at Project Fame, were you disappointed you did not win, despite the fact that you were the last girl standing?
I was shocked when they called the winner. Of course, when you go for a competition, you will want to win, all the same, my performance was encouraging.
What lesson did you learn from Project Fame?
Project Fame was not just a music competition. It doesn’t teach you how to sing alone. It teaches how to work with people, how to multitask. You have to learn how to relate with people, it was an all round show. It taught me a lot of values. Mummy Joke Silvia once asked me to look at the sky and observe the stars, I noticed that no star was blocking the other. She then said, there is room for all stars to shine in the world. That was a great lesson for me.
