Anxiety over RMD’s health as over 10,000 fans pray for him ‘God will heal and preserve him for us’ – STELLA DAMASUS

CONCERNS over the health condition of famous actor and Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe Damijo heightened on Sunday, June 8, 2014, as over 10,000 fans and associates prayed for his quick recovery.

Though RMD, as he is fondly called, is yet to confirm or deny having any health challenge, two key developments had triggered off the fear and apprehension of Nigerians.  One was the photograph of the actor turned politician that betrayed his characteristic robust and energetic frame.  In the said picture that is now the subject of discussion in social and regular media, the dandy and well-adored thespian looked shockingly emaciated.  The said photographs were taken at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on Saturday, May 24, 2014.

Richard-Mofe-Damijo-aka-RMDs-New-Look-2If the photographs ‘lied’ or were wickedly manipulated, the confirmation credited to one of the actor’s buddies, Stella Damasus was given all the seriousness it deserved.  In her Facebook wall on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 8.20 a.m, the star actress who was actually introduced, groomed and nurtured in Nollywood by RMD purportedly wrote: “One of the popular Nollywood actors and a brother from another mother, Richard Mofe Damijo a.k.a RMD is currently battling with live (sic) threatening sickness now (sic).  This is evident from this picture.  May God preserve his life and heal him for us.”

She went on to urge fans to add Amen to fasten his recovery from this life-threatening ailment.

At the time of filing this report, over 10,000 fans have commented on the post that displayed RMD’s photograph.  And with over 3,000 likes, social media buffs reckon that hundreds of thousands of visitors may have viewed the page already linked to RMD’s official Facebook page.

Wikipaedia/Facebook, however, explained that “the page is automatically generated based on what Facebook users are interested in and is not affiliated with or endorsed by anyone associated with the topic.”

We couldn’t reach Stella Damasus for comments before we went to press.  And hearing from the delectable actress through the Facebook was complicated by the fact she has about 30 Facebook accounts, the majority of which would most likely be clones of suspected internet scammers.

RMD, on his part, kept mum on the true state of his health when ENCOMIUM Weekly called him repeatedly on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7.

We also sent him SMS which he didn’t reply.  Our message read: “Good evening, Sir.  The social and mainstream media is awash with some of your pictures, suggesting you are sick.  ENCOMIUM Weekly would want to know your true state of health.  Thank you.”

Richard Mofe Damijo would be 53 on July 6, 2014.
