APC asks FG to withdraw security agents preventing Ekiti courts resumption

The All Progressives Congress has asked the Federal Government to withdraw the security agents who are preventing the resumption of the courts in Ekiti State.

The APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Abuja today (October 9, 2014) said the development was contrary to the directive by the National Judicial Commission, that the courts should re-open while the police should provide security.

The party said the deployment of security agents to prevent the courts opening was a violation of the Judiciary’s authority as well as the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The party also alleged that the federal government’s action was a deliberate ploy to delay the hearing of the case against the Governor-Elect, Mr. Ayo Fayose until after he was sworn-in.
