APC in Odogbolu (Ogun) divided over zoning

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odogbolu (Ogun State) is divided over the proposed zoning of its House of Assembly seat with tension rising among leading members of the party.

Elders in the zone are insisting that the seat must be zoned, while the majority of party stalwarts disagree.

Our sources revealed that majority of stakeholders in the zone, including the electorate (who are fed up with candidates being imposed on them) want a level playing field for all aspirants.

APC, which has no member representing it in the House of Assembly, following the defection of Hon. Remi Hassan to Labour Party and now Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), needs a very strong, visible and credible candidate, an insider told ENCOMIUM Weekly on Sunday, November 9, 2014.

“We hope APC stalwarts will listen to the electorate and give them what they desire which is to field their best candidate,” another faithful maintained.

In Ogun, the party is experiencing some crisis. And with the recent defection of Aremo Olusegun Osoba and the Deputy Governor, Segun Adesegun to Social Democratic Party, the future of APC is in jeopardy…
