APC on losing streak at elections over hardship

It’s not a moment of celebration for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and with the outcome of the bye-election held in Ife Central Constituency, Osun state, on Saturday, April 9, 2016, which was expected to have been won by All Progressives Congress (APC) but won by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), it shows things are no longer at ease with APC government in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Even, the Accord Party (AP) candidate who defected from the PDP also defeated the APC candidate in the just concluded House of Assembly bye-election.
A pointer to the fact that the people of the state have started showing the ruling party the way out due to the unending hardships being experienced in the state and Nigeria at large.
Equally, the electorate at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, have revolted by voting the PDP in the council polls conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2016, and with the AP coming second in some of the polling units. In the results of about seven local councils being circulated shortly after the election, it’s glaring that there is sharp division between the electorate and the APC as the party lost to the PDP in five of the local government areas. An indication that APC may find it difficult to have any headway in the 2019 general elections unless President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration finds  lasting solutions to most of the problems facing the country at the moment, especially fuel scarcity, poor power supply and high exchange rate which have crippled socio-economic activities across the country.
