Apple has finally joined the big-screen era as it unveiled its latest iPhone offerings – the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus – at an event at the
Flint Centre in Cupertino, California yesterday (September 9).
The smartphones feature upgraded technology to take better photos, deliver longer battery life and display more advanced apps; the
most-outstanding feature, however, is its ‘super-sized’ screens.
The iPhone 6 features a screen measuring 4.7-inches diagonally, while the iPhone 6 plus comes with a 5.5-inch screen.
The new iPhones also feature a new chip – the A8 microprocessor – which is 50 percent more power efficient than the chips in last year’s
devices. It also features a larger size for bigger batteries, allowing the iPhone 6 to play music continuously for 50 hours, while the iPhone 6 plus can play for 80 hours. Talk time is 14 hours and 24 hours respectively.
