Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu’s Market Health visit moves to Akure

Following the free distribution of free eye glasses and mosquito nets to market women in Owo, the First Lady of Ondo State, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu in collaboration with Caroline Samuel Foundation, brought the free medical tests and treatments to market women in Akure yesterday.

The women had free access to many medical tests, free medical consultations and free treatments.

The event had in attendance the wife of the Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs Ajewole Agboola Ajayi, the wife of the SSG, Mrs. Olajumoke Abegunde, Commissioner for Women Affairs and social development, Mrs. Omowumi Olatunji Edet, Akure South Local Government Chairman, Princess Margaret Atere, Ondo State NMA PRO, Dr. Saliu Oyelami and Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adegbenro among others.

The wife of the governor emphasised the importance of healthy life to productive capability, reassured the market women that the Akeredolu led government is interested in their health.

“I believe that when you are healthy, you will be able to sell your market. This administration is interested in your health”, Arabinrin Akeredolu affirmed while stressing that market women need to also improve themselves and become digital Iyalojas.

Arabinrin Akeredolu promised to help the women solve some infrastructural problems in the market most especially in the area of water and electricity supply, and used the opportunity to educate them on Breast Self Examination. She enjoined them to go to the hospital if they feel any abnormality in their breast.

The chairman Akure South Local Government, Princess Margaret Atere in her remark thanked the First Lady for the gesture noting that the women are satisfied and grateful.
