Assassination attempt on Ade Lexus latest

Key suspect flees to UK

‘His accomplices will be charged to court soon’ – Police

THE last may not have been heard of the alleged plot by an Ibadan, Oyo State based businessman, Adebayo Orekoya, a.k.a Bobby Ibadan to assassinate Lagos socialite and CEO, Advic Motors, Victor Adelakun, otherwise known as Ade Lexus, as the former was said to have fled to the UK for fear of being arrested.

According to an impeccable source, Bobby Ibadan sneaked out of Nigeria a few days back after his efforts to make peace with his estranged friend hit the rocks.  He was also said to have made many attempts to settle with the police, all to no avail.

The source further told ENCOMIUM Weekly that Orekoya, had made frantic efforts, begging Ade Lexus for forgiveness but the top auto dealer decided to close his gate against him.

“I learnt that Bobby Ibadan, who was said to have sent hired killers to Ade Lexus is now on the run.  I learnt he is in the UK at the moment.  I also learnt he had made a lot of efforts to make sure the matter was settled amicably but that had not yielded the desired result.  I learnt the police are also looking for him.  Maybe they might have known now that he is no more in Nigeria.

“Now, the international police, INTERPOL, have been informed of his crime.  Very soon, I believe he would be arrested wherever he may be.  I also learnt the police have visited his house at GRA, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State and impounded his cars. I learnt all the suspects in respect of that case will be paraded by the police on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.

“I learnt Bobby Ibadan was said to have accused Ade Lexus of sleeping with his wife.  That’s why he wanted to get rid of him,” the source added.

On Friday, May 23, 2014, ENCOMIUM Weekly got across to Ade Lexus on the latest about the issue.  He confirmed that Bobby Ibadan had taken to his heels, following the confession of the suspects who are now in police custody.  He added that the mastermind has no hiding place anymore as the international police are involved in his search.

“It’s true, Bobby Ibadan had fled to the UK. I have been informed that he is there at the moment.  But one thing I am sure of is that he will soon be arrested.”

Asked if Bobby Ibadan had reached out to him for reconciliation after the foiled plot to eliminate him, he reacted, “How do you think that’s possible. Someone that planned to kill you will now be calling you when he couldn’t achieve his evil objective.”  What I learnt is that he has been sending people to the police so that he could settle the matter but I learnt that the police insisted that he should show up.  Maybe because of the fear that if he made himself available at the police station, he may be arrested that’s why he decided to run away.  I don’t have any business with him, he can’t even call me.

Asked if he is dating his wife as alleged, the amiable entrepreneur said, “There is no iota of truth in it.  I am happily married and I don’t have time for that.  I learnt that’s what he is using his wife for.  He’s using the lady to set men up.  He attempted that with me but he failed.  It’s after this incident that I got to understand what was really happening.  There were some occasions I should have fallen victim.  His wife had called many times telling me she was stranded somewhere, that I should help her.  I can still remember, there was a time she called that I should meet her at Tantalizers, Allen Avenue Junction, Ikeja, Lagos, that she had gone to Ibadan to see her children but her husband denied her access to her children.  Not knowing that all this while she was calling me, she was with her husband.  I learnt from a close source that their plan was to kidnap and take me to their house in Ibadan.  They would then demand a ransom.

“This incident of May 10, 2014, was to kidnap me and demand N10m before I would be released.  Those guys in detention confessed that he instructed them to waste my life if I argued with them.  But now, I thank God that his plan was foiled.

Reacting to the issue, Lagos Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), DSP. Ngozi Braide said, “We are still on the matter.  By next week, the suspects will be charged to court.  But the principal suspect, Bobby Ibadan is still at large.  But very soon, we will get to the root of the case.  We got an information from the complainant that he has been begging for forgiveness.  But that’s none of our business.  As far as we’re concerned, the crime has been committed and we must follow it to a logical conclusion.
