Congratulations on your wedding to Ibijola today.

Thank you.

How do you feel?

I am very happy.  In fact, happy is an understatement.  I am beyond happy.  I am overwhelmed.

How did you and Ibijola meet?

I will say through a friend unexpectedly.  We were friends first.  We were very good friends and all of a sudden I don’t know when the transition came.  I fell in love with her because she is amazing.

How long was this?

Going to four years now.

What would you say was the attraction then?

She was intelligent, sincere and a lot of fun to be with. She is beautiful inside and outside.  Everything about her is beautiful. She is the most caring person in the world.  Even when we were just friends, she was taking good care of me.

How and where did you propose to her?

I proposed to her at my sister in-law’s birthday.  After the party, when we were going home, I just stopped in the middle of the road and she was looking like, ‘What’s wrong with this man?’  And I asked her, ‘Will you marry me?’  She ran away first and came back to say, yes.

What is your expectation from this marriage?

We will be together till we are very old and grey.  By the grace of God, we will see our children’s children.  We will know only happiness and peace.  We will have twins.

So, how many children in all do you expect from the union?

I want three.  I am praying for twins and one after.

‘My husband makes me laugh’

Thank you.

How do you feel?

I am excited.  I can’t wait to start the journey with him.

Where and how did you and Jimi meet?

Through mutual friends.  We have some friends in common.  We became friends and it developed into relationship.

When was this?

In 2010.

What will you say attracted you to him that you later agreed to be his wife?

Very humble, friendly, funny and of course, very handsome.  Also, he loves me dearly.  He treats me like an angel.

Can you recount how he proposed to you?

It was at his brother’s wife’s birthday last November.  We went for the party and he invited my friends and his friends and he proposed to me afterwards.

What was your reaction when he asked you to marry him?

I ran away.  Then I ran back in the middle of the road shouting, ‘I am engaged.’  I danced all night.

What’s your expectation from this marriage?

Being happy.  I know I would always laugh because my husband makes me laugh always.  I know we’ll always have fun and never have a dull moment at home and I hope we’ll build a lasting life and legacy together for ourselves and our children.

Talking about children, how many do you want to have?

I want twins.

That is a difficult question to answer.

For how long have you known Olujimi Aina?

Over three years.

What was your assessment of him when your daughter introduced him to you?

He is a wonderful gentleman, well brought up.
