Established in the last four editions as an A-list event with all the elements of 7-stars, The Black & White Ball incorporating the Elegance, Style and Substance Awards and showcasing jaw-dropping drapes is taking better shape.
With an avalanche of support from many quarters, the ceremony scheduled for the Gem of New Lagos will nestle on top as an elegant shindig those who ooze panache and sophistication will be happy to associate with.
The Sunday, August 10, 2014 ball at Ruby Gardens, Lekki, Lagos, from 4 till 10 p.m will be another high-octane ceremony we here at ENCOMIUM, the magazine and events company, are proud and blessed to host.

Whatever is rewarding and fruitful demands painstaking attention and a lot of hard work. So has it been for us here at ENCOMIUM, the magazine and events company, these past months. We have thought long and hard, and worked smart and ceaselessly at packaging an event that settles on the social calendar as not only unmatchable but unbeatable.
And we count ourselves lucky for having on our side experts in many fields whose passion for good form, refinement and elegance catapult the ball to a league of one.
Now, we are almost ready. We are favoured to have as partners Ruby Gardens, on Kilometre 11, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki, Lagos, with us once again. Our experience in 2013, at the magical venue with royal facilities difficult to replicate, still mesmerizes. And we are back again at the Gem of New Lagos.
The two marquees on expansive acres of land serve us perfectly. With ample parking spaces, and appropriate facilities for A-listers, and their ever attentive staffers, we have found a home in Ruby Gardens.
Planted majestically in the posher part of town, we love it here.
So, on Sunday, August 10, 2014, our stars of movies and music, television and comedy, uncommon entrepreneurs and focused politicos will enjoy a six-hour extravaganza laced with top class entertainment and fine dining.

And the wife of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo is with us again this year. We remember fondly her intervention last year which turned the ball into a blissful experience for all.

We are lucky fellas, we know. Our association with Intercontinental Distillers Ltd., makers of world class drinks, has turned our ball into a royal extravaganza where our guests are spoilt with lavish supply of their drinks. From Veleta Sparkling Fruit Drink to Finlays Tonic Wine, Squadron Blended Dark Rum and Chelsea London Dry Gin.

It is dubbed The Black & White Ball for many reasons. But the first derives its importance from the dress and colour code. Without black and white attires in formal mode, the ball will just be another run-of-the-mill ceremony which dominates our social calendar.
But with very formal duds in monochrome, we have a winner on our hands. Guests dressed to the nines, in elegant formal garbs, amplify the event to high heavens.
And our guests, those we are honoured to host and pleased to pamper, know the rules of the game. It’s strictly black and white formal gears.
Ladies and gentlemen can adorn white, black or black and white formal apparels.
Ladies who choose dresses can pick floor sweeping or knee length drapes with different sleeves and straps, finished to perfection with elegant ‘high-heels.’
Dames can opt for classic iro and buba, form-fitting skirt and blouse, or George wrapper and sequined top.
Gentlemen should wear tuxedo, crisp white shirt, black tie, cummerbund or waist coat and patent leather shoes. Don’t forget to hoist your trousers with suspenders for that clean finish.
