How did the MVP grand opening ceremony go?

Simply superb.  The success of MVP grand opening was a befitting testimonial to the time and efforts that had gone into setting up this place. The huge turnout showed that our all-white campaign strategy which was used as the opening night gimmick was widely accepted.

Attended by top celebs, who and who graced the occasion?

I will say everybody from every industry graced the occasion.  We had Ali Baba, Ramsey Nouah, Funke Akindele, Alexx Ekubo, Patoranking, Yomi Casual, Gbenro Ajibade, Gbenga Adeyinka, Amaju Pinnick, Seyi Law, to name a few.

What was the highlight of the event?

The event itself was an unending highlight because it was an unending night and that is fast becoming a norm at MVP; when guests come and they don’t want to leave because they are having too much fun.

Did the grand opening live up to your expectation?

Indeed, I could not have wished for a better opening.  We had put together something for the public and they turned out en masse and loved it.  I had my fears during setup regarding that night and how it would play out but the actual night itself was a pat on my back and on the backs of all of those who worked towards making this dream a reality.

What really didn’t go the way you planned because while ENCOMIUM was leaving the lounge some were grumbling they couldn’t afford your drinks and were not hosted?

I really cannot recall people complaining over the costs of the drinks because we are evenly priced and indeed guests have commended us on the pricing of our drinks and I apologize to anybody who felt slighted at not being properly hosted during the opening night.

Why did you go for such an elaborate official opening?

When an outfit with the name Most Valuable Player enters an industry, there is no way it would just open up one day and say it is ready for business. We had to let all the most valuable players, both residents and guests of Lagos, know that a place designed to celebrate them had finally opened up in Lagos and the only way to announce this was by saying it loud.

Now MVP has kicked off, how would you rate business in the last seven days?

Business has been good. We had a couple of club nights and a couple of comedy nights and the turnout have shown us that we are being appreciated. As a business designed to cater to the whims of our customers, we are using every club night to continually update our arsenal with the values that our most valuable players delight in so that we can serve them better.

AYWhat is the next big event you are hosting?

Every club night is a big event in our book but one event of note which will take place towards the end of the month is the hosting of the after party of 30 Days in Atlanta.  That night will be a celebration of MVP’s indeed and we are excitedly looking forward to it.

For starters, can you tell us what goes on at MVP Monday to Sunday?

At the moment, we have MVP Fridays, MVP Comedy Club which takes place on Sundays and MVP karaokee which takes place every night. The MVP Game Room is also open to customers every day of the week.

How do you intend to cope with competition, considering many other top notch clubs in the neighbourhood?

Our strategy for remaining relevant is by constantly reinventing ourselves. We will not say we have arrived just because we had a great opening or because we currently have a fine turn out of guests for our regular nights. Our plan is not just to meet the already established industry standards but to actually set new trends in the business.

Can you please unveil the management team of MVP and your dream for the lounge?

I run the club as Managing Director and I have Julian Bassey, a seasoned club administrator as my business manager while Mafe, one of the sharpest talents in today’s clubbing scene, is the Club manager.
