FUJI music great, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, will soon be back on the stage.

According to a close source, the widely acclaimed fuji creator was discharged from Universita Clinic, Germany, weeks back, after undergoing surgery for the fourth time.

The source further disclosed to that Mr. Fuji, as Ayinde Barrister is fondly called, has also added some weight as against the previous 75kg which he weighed when he was discharged from Havanna Hospital, Surulere, Lagos in August 2010, before leaving for Germany.

Since he was discharged, we were told that he has been restricted to one of his friend’s house in the UK to enable him enjoy some uninterrupted rest.

“Alhaji Agba has been discharged, but I learnt he was advised not to stay in his house in London or the one in the US for now so that he could have enough rest.  I learnt he now eats very well and his weight has improved tremendously.  His children don’t want people to disturb him, that’s why he is staying in one of his friend’s house at the moment.  After taking some rest there, I believe he will return to the US.  He is back on his feet, but uses a walking stick to support himself.”

ENCOMIUM Weekly reached out to one of his children, Alhaja Modinat Aiyeloja, a.k.a Barrymade, on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, concerning the latest development.  Here is what she said: “It is true that daddy has been discharged.  He left Germany some days back.  He is now hale and hearty, but he is in London.  He still needs some rest.   Concerning the time he will be returning to Nigeria, I don’t know anything about that.  All I know is that he is very much okay now and he can return to Nigeria anytime he likes.”

Meanwhile, one of the close aides of the fuji musician confided in ENCOMIUM Weekly that he will be leaving UK for United States of America in the middle of November.  And he would stay in the US till February 2011 when he will be marking his 64th birthday, before returning to Nigeria.

“Ayinde Barrister can’t return now until February next year.  He wants to be fully fit before returning to the country because as soon as he comes back, he would enter the studio for his next album, so as to appreciate all those that stood by him,” the source volunteered.

It would be recalled that Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister has been battling poor health for months now.  News filtered into town on August 30, 2010, that the Ibadan, Oyo State born crooner had died in Germany.  Now, his friends, family and close associates are singing a sweet song of victory as the man has become much better.
