Ayinde Barrister’s children deny suing K1 over Fuji history palaver

Contrary to the story flying around, children of late Fuji creator, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister have denied embarking on any legal action against Fuji star, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose, better known as K1 De Ultimate, over his controversial pronouncement on the creation of the genre. They added, it’s a baseless rumour.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Samsideen Balogun expressed total dissatisfaction about the report, calling on the general public to disregard it as there’s no iota of truth in it.
“That’s not true. And it’s nothing but a baseless rumour. Those peddling that are only trying to create unnecessary attention to themselves. How can we take K1 to court over that? Any newspaper or magazine that has published that only did that to discredit itself.”
Asked if they are on talking terms with the Oluaye of Fuji, as K1 is also referred to, Balogun said, “We’re on our own, K1 is on his own. No one is fighting anybody. So, just like I said, the story of Ayinde Barrister’s children taking him to court because he said our father didn’t create Fuji is fictitious and unfounded.”
A couple of months back, K1 De Ultimate said at a public forum organised by Nigeria Breweries, while speaking on the role of Fuji in projecting Yoruba culture beyond the shores of Nigeria, that the late accomplished musician (Barrister) didn’t create Fuji as a genre of music as he claimed till death. Not only that, the Ijebu Ode, Ogun born entertainer also faulted his late boss’ claim that he named the genre after a mountain in Japan.
The comment almost set the industry ablaze as it didnt go down well with some  Fuji artistes, addicted followers of the late Fuji icon and his children who rejected in totality the history as told by K1.
