AY’s MVP Lagos lounge shut!

ONE of the nation’s leading lounges, MVP Lagos has been shut down, its MD/CEO, Ayo Makun, AY has exclusively revealed to ENCOMIUM Weekly.

The reasons, the showbiz entrepreneur said, are to renovate and reposition it for better services.

“It’s not as if MVP has closed down business for good, but we want to bring in fresh hands to run the place. For us, it’s better to close our doors for a while and restrategise than to get things wrong.  We need better and able hands to run the lounge.”

Asked if MVP has financial crisis, AY debunked the allegation, boasting they have at least a five year lease covering the property.

There were fears last week that the nine-month old exclusive fun spot might have run into deep financial crisis, following low patronage and inexperience of the team running the multi-million naira joint venture.

But the MD/CEO of MVP has now clarified all is well with the business, if not for the need for restructuring of lounge.

AY even confided in us he’s inviting a professional hand from the Arabian gulf to re-engineer MVP, Lagos.

MVP was officially opened on Friday, September 26, 2014, with loads of top celebrities in attendance.

The acronym, Most Valuable Player, according to its promoters, is an all-new luxury and premium class club, lounge and restaurant located in the heart of Lekki Phase 1, Lagos (MVP Lagos is on Durosimi-Etti Drive, Off Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos).

“MVP’s premium luxury is captured in how it is set up, designed, and intrinsically decorated.

“The adventure at MVP begins with the illuminated all-glass architectural masterpieces that capture the visage of guests as they walk through the staircase leading to the modern wonderland that surpasses the traditional concepts of nightlife in Lagos.

“MVP is conceptualized and designed with modern interior elements that aim to challenge guests’ sense of perception and reality.

“It is in about 5,000 squarefoot space equipped with the finest sound and lighting system that raises the bar for a world-class clubbing experience in Lagos.”

Party lovers were promised a “dance to the DJ’s tempo late into the morning hours under a custom three-dimensional LED sphere, propelling the disco ball concept into the 21st century.”

MVP also has unique units, namely, the Restaurant, Game Room, VIP gold room and the VVIP Diamond Room.  The VVIP diamond room comes with personal access passes and exclusive tables where guests enjoy bottle services from their personal hostesses, who provide them with hospitality assistance that take care of their every need at MVP.

And with a promise to redefine nightlife in Lagos, owners of MVP hired some of the industry’s able hands who, however, couldn’t ‘deliver.’

The Team MVP included, Julian Bassey who worked as Business Manager.  He was responsible for business development for the club’s nights and activities.  There was also Damilola Mafe, the Club Manager also known as MafeonDis1.  Though described as ‘cherry, energetic and skilled’ and coming on board with a decade of experience in Club Management, Event Promotion and Club Consultancy, things didn’t just add up here.
