Baby Boom in 2014

The entertainment industry witnessed baby boom in 2014. A lot of industry stakeholders were blessed with the fruit of the womb including those who had been waiting on the Lord for a couple of years. ENCOMIUM Weekly presents a compilation of those who benefitted from it the development. 

 

Curvy actress, Mercy Johnson delivered her second child, a baby boy on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. She had her baby at St. Joseph Hospital, University of Maryland, Baltimore, USA.
In 2012, she had her first child, a girl, Purity while the second was christened Henry. Despite the controversies that surrounded her relationship with her husband, Odianosen, they walked down the aisle on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Christ Embassy Church, Oregun, Lagos State.

Delectable actress, Damilola Adegbite also became a mother in 2014. She gave birth to a baby boy in New York, USA, to his Ghanaian fiancé actor, Chris Attoh.
She named him Brian Attoh. Speaking about how it feels to become a father, Chris Attoh said “Someone should have told me this is how amazing it feels. It is the greatest feeling ever. I thank God for the new member He added to my family.”
The duo denied dating until Damilola became pregnant.

Petite comedienne, actress and on air personality, Helen Paul welcomed the tiny patters of a baby’s feet on Monday, November 24, 2014. She had a baby boy in an undisclosed hospital on the Mainland of Lagos. In 2011, she was blessed with a baby boy which was her first.
Speaking on the joys of motherhood, Helen Paul said “It feels great to be a mother again. I am already climbing the ladder to join the greatest mothers.”

Despite the crisis that rocked her marriage, actress Uche Ogbodo also welcomed a baby girl on Sunday, August 3, 2014, in the United States. The happy mother named her baby girl Chinagorom days after.
Uche is yet to reconcile with her husband, Ato. He has since been trying to win back her love but to no avail.
Speaking about the joys of motherhood, Uche said “Motherhood is a bit different from my usual life. I am very happy. It is fun, I am rocking motherhood.”

Actress Olaide Bakare delivered a baby boy in America on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. She named him Abdulsamad in America before coming back home. Fair skinned Laide Bakare had Samad for Alhaji Tunde Oriowo a couple of months after tying the knot.
Before then, she had a boy, Oluwadamilare for Alhaji Oriowo, while her baby girl, Simisola belongs to her ex husband, Olumide Okufulure.
Speaking about the joys of motherhood, “I am the happiest person in the world, Araye ebami dupe, ire akari Insha Allah.”

After nine years of waiting and trusting the Lord, ex-Kush member, Toyin Bello popularly known as TY Bello welcomed a set of twins on Saturday, October 11, 2014, in the United States of America. It was the best gift ever to conclude her struggle in 2014. She named her boys Christian and Christopher.
TY Bello succeeded in keeping her pregnancy till the news filtered round that she had put to bed. Speaking about children, she once said “I love photographing babies yet nothing terrifies me more, I throw myself in the deep end by creatively photographing a crèche and nursery every year.”
Since she had her bundle of joy, the Land is Green crooner and her kids are yet to return to Nigeria.

Jude and Ify Okoye also became parents in 2014. The couple, who celebrated their traditional wedding earlier in the year had a baby girl on Saturday, November 29, 2014, in the United States of America. She had her at Northside Hospital, Atlanta, United States.
The baby was named Princess Emma Adanna Okoye. Speaking about the bundle of joy’s arrival Jude said “I thank God for His newest gift of life, all glory to God the Father.”

Actress Shola Kosoko Abina announced the arrival of her baby girl immediately she was strong enough to go on social media.
“Not the power of money I have, not the power of the doctors but the power of the most high God, I delivered a baby girl successfully.”
The baby came on Saturday, July 19, 2014. She had her in the United States and named her Oluwasindara Waheedah Abina. Speaking on the joys of motherhood, “I feel very great, very happy and the experience is quite unique, I thank God for it.”

The Idibias ushered in their second child (a girl) Olivia on January 3, 2014, at Atlanta Georgia, USA. The actress cum model had moved to the USA a couple of months before the arrival of her daughter. Immediately the baby popped out, the music super star took the next available flight to Atlanta to give his wife, Annie Idibia all the support she needed.
Her mother and best friend, Maryann Bassey were also with her.

Bethel Njoku, popularly known as Senator welcomed his first child in 2014. His wife, Kemen Librin had a son on Monday, April 21, 2014, at West Houston Medical Centre, United States of America. The couple walked down the aisle on May 19, 2012.
They Christened their son Jesse Chinonso Njoku. Speaking on fatherhood, Senator said, “It feels good and fulfilling. God has been so good over my case, He has shown me so much love, I am honoured.”

Ex Delta Queen, Sandra Okagbue was not left out in the 2014 baby boom. She welcomed a baby girl in the United States of America. The identity of the father of her child is still unknown. Sources are pointing to sensational music act, Flavour Nabania. The child came on September 27, 2014.

Actress Dakore Egbuson and husband, Olumide became parents, again on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, in the United States of America.
The couple tied the knot on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Speaking about the development, the delectable actress said, “All I have to say is thank you Lord, it gives a great happiness, joy, love.”

Julius Akinlami, also known as Elenu and wife, Chinwe Anyanwu welcomed a bouncing baby boy at San Ramon Regional Medical Centre, California, USA, at exactly 1.38 pm on Friday, February 28, 2014.
The child was christened Jaden Olamide Akinlami. The couple got married on Sunday, June 15, 2013, at Global Impact Church after courting for about five year.
Speaking about the joys of fatherhood, “I am the happiest person on earth right now. I didn’t receive the news, it all happened in my presence. I witnessed it, that was the first time I cried seeing my wife in labour. I give thanks to God.”
His wife also spoke on the joys of motherhood. “God be praised, it feels great to be a mother, I am grateful to God and my husband for being there always.”
