SUPER model, Doyin Haastrup Olatokunbo has just been blessed with another baby. The tall and leggy runway queen gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at a private hospital in Houston, Texas, United States of America. Mother and child are said to be in good condition.
Doyin Haastrup flew out of Nigeria to the US in January 2014, shortly after she concluded the show, Pearl Look 2014. She was few months pregnant. She relocated to the US with her two children as she excitedly waited for the arrival of her bundle of joy. And on Thursday, August 14, 2014, the new addition to the family arrived. Her husband, Ayodeji Olatokunbo exploded with joy.
ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with the new mother who is still in the US on Thursday, September 11, 2014. She was so full of joy and gratitude to God for safe delivery.
“I am so excited. The baby arrived at the appointed time. It is a baby boy. I now have three boys.”
We asked her about her shape presently, and here is what she told us, “I am a bit bigger now but as soon as I am back in Nigeria, I will be back to my shape. It is something I have been doing for years. When I had my first and second baby, I gained some flesh and after breast feeding, I returned to normal shape. I am going to breast feed my new baby for one year and two months and then come back. My second born was breast fed for one year and three months, the same thing I did with my first born. Just watch out, I will be back on the runway.”
On whether she would quit modelling now because of the stress associated with motherhood especially when you have three children, she told us, “I am not quitting modelling. That is my passion. I will only participate in fashion week and not just any show. In fact, I can’t wait to return, even if you want to pay me. I love to be on the runway.”
Are you now done with baby making? we asked her further, “I am done with baby making. I have three boys. It’s only God who gives children and I am appreciative. He blessed us with children.”
But you don’t have a baby girl, are you bothered? “Not at all. It’s the Lord’s doing. I and my husband agreed to just have three children and if I don’t have a baby girl, I give God all the glory.”
This is Doyin’s third baby in nine years. Her first child, a boy named Wonder, 6, arrived before she tied the knot with husband, Ayodeji Olatokunbo. Her second child, also a boy, named Flourish is three and now her latest arrival was christened Ayomiposi Success at a moderate ceremony weeks back.
Doyin tied the knot with businessman, Ayodeji Olatokunbo on November 15, 2008, inside the Big Brother Africa House in South Africa. The ceremony was broadcast live on television with over 30 million viewers from Africa watching. Doyin was just 23 then and just emerged Future Awards Model of the Year in Nigeria. She was a runner up in the prestigious Face of Africa competition. She once signed for Ice Models in South Africa and has graced known magazines like Cosmopolitan, Elle and others. The couple met at the South African High Commission in Lagos. They were there to renew their documents.
